Welcome to Democracy Unyielding. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website democracyunyielding.org and all related services, including the Resolution Wall, Civic Action Plan, newsletter, and accountability partner matching (collectively, the "Services").

Resolution Wall: Public Submissions

Content You Submit

When you submit a civic resolution to our Resolution Wall, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your submission will be publicly displayed on our website, including your name, city, state, generation, and resolution text
  • Your submission may be shared on social media, in promotional materials, and in media coverage
  • Your submission may be included in the Times Square New Year's Eve confetti drop if you opt in
  • All submissions are subject to moderation and approval before being published
  • We reserve the right to reject or remove any submission that violates these Terms

Content Standards

You agree that your resolution submissions will:

  • Be truthful and not contain false or misleading information
  • Not violate any laws or regulations
  • Not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Not contain hate speech, threats, harassment, or discriminatory content
  • Not contain obscene, vulgar, or sexually explicit content
  • Not promote violence or illegal activities
  • Not contain spam, advertising, or commercial solicitations
  • Not impersonate any person or entity

License to Your Content

By submitting content to our Resolution Wall, you grant Democracy Unyielding a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display your content in any media format for the purpose of operating and promoting the Democracy Unyielding campaign. You retain ownership of your content, but you grant us the right to use it as described above.

Accountability Partner Matching

Our Civic Action Plan includes an accountability partner matching service. By participating, you agree that:

  • You consent to sharing your contact information with your matched partner
  • You will communicate respectfully and professionally with your partner
  • You understand that we do not conduct background checks on participants
  • You are responsible for your own safety and interactions with your partner
  • We are not liable for any disputes, harm, or issues arising from partner relationships
  • You can request to be unmatched at any time by contacting us

The accountability partner program is designed to support civic engagement, not to provide professional counseling, therapy, or legal advice. If you need professional support, please seek appropriate licensed professionals.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Violating any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringing on intellectual property rights
  • Transmitting viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfering with or disrupting our Services
  • Scraping, crawling, or harvesting data from our website
  • Using automated systems (bots) to access our Services
  • Impersonating others or providing false information
  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
  • Using our Services for commercial purposes without permission

Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with us, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally by sending a written notice describing the nature and basis of the claim to [email protected].

If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue formal legal action. You agree that any legal action must be brought in the federal or state courts located in the jurisdiction where Democracy Unyielding is headquartered, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

General Provisions

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Democracy Unyielding regarding our Services and supersede any prior agreements.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

No Agency

No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between you and Democracy Unyielding as a result of these Terms or your use of our Services.
